Tim WeaverOur Principal Consultant and Managing Director Tim Weaver has spent 30 years in the Computer Industry providing a variety of technical, management and consultancy roles with prestigious companies.

Tim has considerable breadth of knowledge of ICT systems and is very experienced at advising small and medium sized businesses on comprehensive, integrated ICT solutions to provide business advantage. As a Deputy National Councillor & Director of the Federation of Small Businesses, (FSB), and as Chairman of the FSB Regional Policy Committee Tim has extensive experience of working with SMEs.

He spent 15 years in the financial services sector in Europe, managing IT infrastructure projects and development projects for trading and banking systems, price dissemination systems and communications networks. He has also provided consultancy on business & product strategy, and on project management techniques.

He is a fully qualified Chartered Engineer and Chartered IT Professional with European language skills. He is a seasoned IT professional, well versed in consultancy and project management techniques, with considerable experience of managing difficult, high risk technical projects as well as working with users to identify solutions to strategic business requirements.

He has a First Class Honours Degree in Computer Science and is a Professional Member of the British Computer Society (BCS), a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (FIMA), as well as being a Fellow of The Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce (FRSA).

Tim has in depth knowledge and experience of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access, Microsoft FrontPage, Microsoft Project, PMW, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, Actinic eCommerce and document management systems.

He also has extensive experience in producing & reviewing documentation including sales literature, bid documents, RFIs (Requests For Information), tender documents, proposals and technical manuals.

This has involved comprehensive business analysis, supplier and product research; and making detailed recommendations with ICT action plans to provide real business benefits.
  • Project management training and consultancy to Farnborough International Limited enabling them to setup and manage the project plans for the 2008 Airshow
  • Review and preparation of Standard IT Operating Procedures for a Healthcare Regulatory Affairs and Development services company, including general ICT advice and assistance.
  • eCommerce consultancy to the Department for Education and Skills – DfES.
  • Management of the voice aspects of IT Relocation for the OM Group in London.
  • Management of the Barclays Capital Home PC & Laptop Computing Project for staff working remotely.
  • Technical consultancy to Barclays Capital on their global IT Disaster Recovery strategy.
  • Technical consultancy to Barclays Capital and project planning and administration of their Year 2000 Compliance Programme.
  • Management of a £1.8 million project to migrate over 4,000 desktop PCs to Windows NT4.0 for Barclays Capital.
  • Management of a £21 million project to design, procure and implement a new IT infrastructure for BZW including roll-out of Windows NT servers, workstations and desktop services as part of a project to relocate 4,000 staff.
  • Overall management of a DM 6.5 million project to develop and install a front office Equities and Bonds dealing system for Bayerische Vereinsbank based in Munich.
  • Project audit followed by re-scoping of a £1 million Oracle project to develop a Railway Safety Information Management system for Railtrack.
  • Provided expert opinion on project deliverables as part of dispute resolution between a large UK utility and and a large international computer company.
  • Management and design of a system for tracking hospital specimens and records for Barnet & Chase Farm Hospital NHS Trust.
  • Management and design of training programmes for Barnet Primary Care Trust.
  • Management and design of training programmes for Barnet & Chase Farm Hospital NHS Trust.
  • Project management of the relocation of a Pathology department at Barnet & Chase Farm Hospital NHS Trust.
  • Project management of a laboratory refit for North Middlesex Hospital NHS Trust.
  • Administration of the Computer Supported Cooperative Working Special Interest Group - Team IT on behalf of the DTI.
