Certification Focus - ECDL
The European Computer Driving licence (ECDL) is the internationally recognised certificate of IT competence in the use of computer skills. It is the world’s leading credential for getting a job, improving job performance, or enhancing opportunities for promotion where IT skills make a difference. It is also known as the International Computer Driving licence (ICDL).
The ECDL was introduced in May 1998 and is a comprehensive and thorough computer training programme that aims to provide individuals with a formal qualification that is recognised throughout the United Kingdom and Europe.
Its aims are:
- to raise the general level of competency in IT
- to improve productivity at work
- to enable employers to invest more efficiently in IT
- and to ensure that best practice & quality issues are understood & implemented
| The syllabus for ECDL has been created to cover key concepts and their application in the workplace. It consists of seven modules, all of which must be passed before the ECDL certificate can be awarded: |

Our ECDL course gives you the foundations necessary to pass all of the ICDL/ECDL exams - see below for course details...
Once training is completed, a test is conducted at an Accredited Testing Centre for each of the seven modules. Exams typically cost from £10 to £20 for each module, (while there is a one-off cost for the log book of £25). These modules can be taken in any order at any time, or all at once. As candidates pass each Test, their success will be registered in their Log Book, which forms a record of their progress towards attaining the licence. On successful completion of all seven tests, their log book is exchanged for an ECDL Licence.
